• Stretching before a workout? Nah…

    Want to save time on your next work out? Skip the stretch beforehand! It turns out that stretching hasn’t been proven to be beneficial before a sweat session.

    Instead of static stretching, it is good to prep the body with some “dynamic warm-up” types of movements. Here are a few suggestions of my favorite warm-up exercises:

    • Squats and Plies
    • Shoulder Pullbacks and Shoulder Rolls
    • Side to Side Lunges
    • Alternating Lunges
    • Wall Push ups

    All of these moves will help you to get those muscles warm and limber to increase performance and prevent injury! Try doing a few of these moves for about a minute before your next run or walk.
